NYC is a brand that I really don't frequent, but when I saw this on sale at Rite Aid for 75% off I couldn't pass it up. The only product that I usually use from NYC's line of cosmetics is their liquid eye liner which is to die for. Well I think so at least. NYC (New York colors) like NYX is also a very affordable brand of cosmetics. If you are on a budget or you are a beginner in makeup application...NYC is a good line to practice with. According to their website their line strives to capture the city style, color, and vibe.

NYC's brand of cosmetics have been featured in Glamour, All You, People and several others. The product line can be found in Ulta, Walmart, Walgreen's, CVS and many other major drugstores. NYC is a subsidiary of Coty, Inc. Here is some brief information on Coty Incorporated.

Coty, Inc. is a century-old fragrance manufacturer that also produces cosmetics and other health and beauty aids. Founded by a Corsican who exploited his marketing knack to become, reputedly, the richest man in France, the company has experienced numerous changes in ownership and management over the years. It is the world's leading maker of mass-market fragrances for men and women. Coty scents have existed since François Coty created his first perfume, La Rose Jacqueminot, in 1904. Its range includes fragrances and colognes sold by mass retailers and prestige brands found in department stores. Coty's brands include Jennifer Lopez, JOOP!, Jovan, Rimmel, Stetson and New York Color.

Okay now onto the review of the product. My initial thought of the product was the the colors were very beautiful, and not to mention inexpensive. Original purchase price was $4.99 and it was on sale for 75% off. The pigmentation of the shadow colors where not too great. You really have to build the colors in order for it to appear on my deeper skin tone. I also used a primer (which is included) and a base from NYX. I have attached a video of all the steps taken in order to get the results you see in the attached photos. The primer and the illuminator included have a creamy consistency and glide onto the lid very well. You have to blend the illuminator very well or you will have a shiny/greasy looking lid. The packaging is pretty good and protects the product very well. There is also a photo included on the the back side of the packing that give instruction on how to use the shadows, primer and the illuminator.

I give this product a 2 out of 5. I know the rating seems a bit low, but the color pay out is not that great, but for the price it is a good place to start. If you are used to using higher end cosmetics you will not enjoy using this product at all. I will not be using this product again, but will keep it because of the color the matched my skin perfectly. For more information on NYC cosmetics please visit the link provided below.
